The House of Culture in Braunschweig is a place of social and cultural participation in Braunschweig!
As a place of diversity, the house takes on the task of being a positive ambassador for intercultural life within the Braunschweig region. This includes events that expand familiar thought patterns and open up new perspectives, as well as seminars that do not emphasize the differences that divide people, but rather focus on what they have in common.
„SUPPORT IS A VERB“
With the Weact project, the Haus der Kultur in Braunschweig offers a counseling center for people affected by racism.
The community-based, racism-critical contact and advice center is aimed at people with migration, post-migration and refugee experience who have been affected by racism and multiple discrimination.
Our counseling center offers a safer space where, in addition to individual and accompanying counseling, we work together to find strategies and solutions and create space for empowerment and self-efficacy.
Furthermore, the weact project supports anti-discriminatory opening processes and formulates recommendations for action that can be applied at different levels, such as local, state or federal government.
